International Business Concentration
The Concentration requires four (4) courses as set out below.
- Two international courses, one of which is within the functional area of study (i.e., international finance for finance majors) and one from another functional area of study within the College. If the student’s area of study does not have an international course, two international courses may be taken from other functional areas of study.
- MKTG 470
- MGMT 425
- ECON 415
- FNAN 412
- BLAW 415
- ACCT 426
AND
- Two courses in foreign language or study abroad or international internship in any of the following combinations:
- Six hours of study abroad courses
- If you take business courses abroad, you may use your business electives; if you take non-business courses abroad, you may use your non-business electives.
OR
- Three hours of an international internship (requires department head approval) and three hours of foreign language at the 200 level or above may
- If you take an international business internship, you may use your business internship elective. If you take foreign language, you may use your business or non-business electives.
OR
- Six hours of foreign language at the 200 level or above
- You may use your business or non-business electives
In addition to the four required courses above, the IB concentration student is encouraged, but not required to choose from the following non-business electives:
- History elective: HIST 110, 327, 330,343,361,362
- BHSC elective: ANTH 201; POLS 220,360, 425, 467; SOCI 100 or 310; World Geography 103, 306,311,313,315,317,319,367
The IB concentration student is encouraged, but not requiredto achieve foreign language proficiency and cultural awareness by selectively taking additional cultural and language courses. Please e-mail keaty@louisiana.edu if you have questions.
