AITP is an organization for all business majors and particularly MIS majors. Activities include faculty/high tech guest speakers and participation in conferences that involve database administration, network administration, programming, and other applications of technology in the workplace. We interact with the professional chapter which meets monthly in Lafayette. Students are encouraged to attend the chapter meetings as they can network for career opportunities in the Lafayette area.

Beta Gamma Sigma

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest national recognition a student in business can receive in an undergraduate or master's program at a school accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). To be eligible for membership, the academic ranking of those being considered must place them in the upper 7 percent of the junior class, upper 10 percent of the senior class, or upper 20 percent of the graduating master's class. The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement and personal excellence in the study and practice of business. BGS membership provides scholarship programs, educational tours, lifelong learning through BGS, news, and Career Networking Program through SkillSearch.

The Kappa Xi Chapter of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi has been on UL’s campus since May 2, 1981. Delta Sigma Pi offers professional evolution, community involvement, a lifetime opportunity, the development of leaders, and academic achievement.
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
For more than 95 years, Delta Sigma Pi has encouraged, supported, and shaped the professional goals and personal aspirations of thousands of members. It is quite simply the foremost professional fraternity for men and women pursuing business careers. Progressing from student to young professional to seasoned business performer, members of Delta Sigma Pi grow far beyond classroom theory through real-life managerial and leadership experience.

The mission of the Honors Business Society is to produce exceptional business professionals, equipped with knowledge, experience, and good moral character. This will be accomplished most effectively by: encouraging each other to excel in our university’s Honors Program, providing a strong voice for the needs of honors students in the College of Business, and giving our students the opportunity to apply their knowledge through projects and small group meetings.
