On January 29, MSN Encarta listed the 5 Most Marketable College Degrees of 2009. They are as follows: 1) Nursing  2) Computer/information Science  3) Engineering  4) Economics  5) Education.  In other words, this source considers Economics to be the most marketable major in the College of Business.

The article states (in part), "In addition to a nearly $53,000 average starting salary, economics majors can also expect more job options.  According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, two of the top 20 fastest-growing occupations require economics degrees to break in."
